Rekord buddy 2 beta3/19/2023 Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox 5.2 is now ready to be downloaded. We reviewed the original Rekord Buddy app over two years ago, and found it to be a useful tool for those wanting to migrate from Traktor to Rekordbox, with Rekordbox being just a music library organiser at the time. I'll keep writing blog posts and go in detail about a specific feature each time. The latest update to the library and playlisting software adds the new Lighting Mode introduced with the RB-DMX1 hardware. It allows users to sync their DJ sets to any DMX compatible lighting system, either by programming their own displays or using the auto-sync functions. In that sense, Lexicon really is Rekordcloud 2.0 and not something new you need to buy. Rekordcloud users will be upgraded to Lexicon users automatically and get access to Lexicon. First Lexicon needs to be released and there will be a transition period as well. Ultimately, Lexicon will replace Rekordcloud and Rekordcloud will be turned off. There will still be a connection to the cloud (the Rekordcloud server) for features that require it (e.g. That was the original idea behind Rekordcloud but with Lexicon the focus will be on a local app. Rekordcloud implies that it is cloud based, i.e. New ideas have very little boundaries now and Lexicon is the app that gives DJs massive amounts of power over their music library. All Rekordcloud features are available in Lexicon and much more.
